President's
Report
| Judy Huyvaert, 894-8615,
jhuyvaert1@hotmail.com It is bittersweet to be writing my last newsletter article
as your club President, I have been honored to serve you again in this position. Any of
you who knows me also knows that I love the GHJWC, the women who are members and the work
we do. I am excited about our incoming Executive Board members- Joyce at the helm as our
President; Laura Burke as our VP/President Elect; Mary Wolski as our Secretary &
Rebecca Tybor as our Treasurer. I am confident in their commitment and look so forward to
the coming year. I must thank the outgoing Executive Board and all the chairmen who have
done such a fabulous job the past year and a half! Many, many thanks to the following
ladies who made such a difference for our club by serving on the Executive Board and/or as
chairmen: Joyce Hundhausen, Jessica Mandziara, Mary Wolski, Barb Kuminowski, Debbie Lane,
Christine Seagrave, Mary Shroeder, Sue Dees, Sherry Esposito, Ann Warren, Virginia
Proffitt, Joanna Seebeck, Virginia Engel, & Jeanette Wells. Thanks are also in order
to those of you who chaired special committees or fundraisers: Linda Jackson, Sharon Fonte
& Peggy Wells. Big thanks to Jim & Laura Burke for our fantastic web site-
what a giant technological leap for our little club!
I am very excited to have a new location for
our meetings- Glendale Lakes should be a wonderful atmosphere and a needed change. Please
take time this holiday season to reflect on our club and all the great things we have
accomplished. Consider taking on a chairmanship (we have a number of positions still
available); invite friends and acquaintances to join (there's power in numbers!), follow
through on your club commitments (then turn in a report!) and support the efforts of our
club (we can and do make such a difference!). Have a wonderful holiday. I look forward to
seeing you all at the Millennium on Wednesday!!

Secretary's Report

Minutes from the November
General meeting are attached.
Please read and note any corrections/changes for the December General Meeting. Thanks!
Social Committee
Barbara Kuminowski 894-5654, Bkuminowsk@aol.com
What a fun evening our murder mystery was! Over thirty members and guests
enjoyed a good dinner at the Holiday Inn in the Garden Room and then moved upstairs to a
meeting room for the actual mystery. We were each given $800,000 to start with and were
able to bid on purchasing the rights to a movie, becoming a director, actor or actress.
After the bidding, we read actual scripts at the whim of the director. All the time clues
were being given out and it was up to us to decide what was relevant and what was not. At
the end we could buy additional clues and had to come up with the "prime
suspect". Who knew we had such talented actresses in our midst!
Thanks to all who came out for my last planned social and a special thank
you to Laura Burke for her help in procuring the Holiday Inn for our event.

Engel, vengel2@msn.com
It's that time of year again.
Seems like Christmas is just around the corner. Each year we sponsor a senior citizen in
conjunction with the Humanitarian Service Project in West Chicago. Our senior's name is
Virginia and Joanna Seebeck will contact them to find out what she wants for Christmas.
Joanna and I will be shopping for Virginia as soon as we have her "Wish List".

HOLIDAY GIFTS TO OUR LOCAL TROOP'S
Laura Burke
There are 11 Glendale Heights residents that are currently serving our
country in Iraq. The GHJWC has joined forces with the Glendale Heights
VFW Ladies Auxiliary #2377 who will help deliver our box of "holiday
gifts" to these troops. By joining forces, it allowed the GHJWC to purchase
more items vs. spending it on shipping costs (which are extremely high).
Items that were purchased by the club that these young men and woman will receive for
Christmas are: Pringles chips, white socks, holiday CDs, phone cards, small cans of
fruit, Visine, baby wipes, white t-shirts, Christmas Ornaments and more! If youd
like to add to our donation, please drop off any items to the VFW Hall on Army Trail no
later than December 2nd. Im happy to report that the club "gift box" was
valued at over $100. What a good feeling to send some comforts of home to those so far
away.

Vendor
Fair
Mary Wolski & Joanna Seebeck
Mary and Joanna would like to say thank you to all their
helper. The vendors got some bookings, leads and sales. We got some nice door price gifts
for our bowling fundraiser and $100.00.
Thank you to:
Virginia Engel and Ann Warren: They did a great job on the signs.
Virginia also helped out the night before and in the morning got soaking wet putting the
signs out. Sorry for the rain.
Judy and Christine: They had a very nice club video to show at the club table.
Jeanette and Gregory Wells: They were great running back and forth helping vendors to
their places. Gregory was a great helper to Leo Wolski.
Joanna and Mark Seebeck: For the great programs. Joanna collected the gifts or money from
vendors and pulled the door prizes. Thanks for the late night meeting.
Sue Dees, Barb Kuminowski: They were our gracious greeters.
Mary Schroeder: Ann's lovely assistant. (Ann sold left over crafts)
Joyce Hudhausen: Our p.m. gracious greeter and clean up.
Laura Burke: participated in our show with her business "Fab-u-le$$" gifts.
Leo Wolski: Leo with Virginia E. Help with the set up the night before. During the show
Leo with the help of Gregory W. did a lot of running to help vendors with all their needs.
I would like to give a special thank you to the sports Hub, for donating
the field house. Cec's, Suzette, and Lori sports hub staff thank you for all your help.
The Holiday Showcase could not have been done with out all of your help.
Thank you
Sincerely,
Mary Wolski

Members Corner
Get well wishes go out to our
very own VIP, Mel Warren who is recovering from recent surgery.
For those who dont know what severe back pain is like, just ask Becki
Tybor. Becki was recently experiencing such severe pain that she missed a week of work
(hard to believe anything can keep her down!). She is getting a little better every day
and we wish her a speedy recovery.

Miss DuPage County
Scholarship Program
Hard to believe the planning is
already under way for this event. At this time, the date of March 6, 2005 has been
"penciled in" at the Holiday Inn, Carol Stream. We are looking for an
auditorium or theatre as an alternative (they offer more of the "production
materials" that we need for a successful and entertaining show) so if you know of a
place that can be checked into, please share.
There will be a "committee" meeting for those that signed up to work on next
years program. We will be crowning two young ladies again, Miss DuPage County and Miss
Western Suburbs. Thank you to Joanna Seebeck who has stepped forward to be our
"Judges Representative" again!. She was so fantastic with last years
judges that we look forward to having her special touches for the new panel.
If you are interested in joining the committee, there's plenty of time to raise your hand.
Thank you to everyone participating in putting this fun event together. Let's Party!!!!
